Professional Services
Hyperwave believes that Knowledge Management is uniquely defined by each organization – one size does not fit all. Although there are many reoccurring themes from company-to-company, the full value is realized through an appropriate process and several disciplines, such as creating a clear corporate vision, accurately identifying user and organizational requirements, and a properly executed implementation plan.
As you will see, the approach is iterative and can be executed over and over to fulfill time-to-market needs of any organization. The Hyperwave Methodology has been developed by working closely with more than 300 international companies over a number of years. The experiences gained have been invaluable in the success of new projects. To this end, Hyperwave has developed a phased approach to fully implement tailored Knowledge Management solutions.
Project Phases
Hyperwave services help companies throughout the lifecycle of a project and most likely, onto the next project, and so on. Included in these services, Hyperwave can provide high-level consulting on the concepts and components of Knowledge Management (people, process, & technology) right down to the details of the enabling technologies.
Hyperwave has many ways of completing a project. Hyperwave’s own Professional Services Organization, partners from the Hyperwave Partner Network, and customers themselves, have implemented Hyperwave solutions. Typically, a combination of the aforementioned means provides the best results.
The Hyperwave Methodology phases include the following:
- Discovery – this phase consists of formulating and mapping a KM Vision to an organization. Business Drivers, Readiness, People, Process and Technology issues will be explored at this time.
- Design – a KM Workshop will be conducted that walks the team through tasks and exercises that result in a General Requirements Definition. Detailed Design will follow and definitions of project details, milestones, task assignments, functionality, and look and feel will be finalized and documented.
- Implementation – execution of the project plan will create the solution as determined from the previous phases. This phase consists of sub-phases that work as milestones that measure the success of the ongoing project. Each milestone can be "signed off" when the predefined requirements have been met. There will be constant reporting provided to varying levels throughout.
- Deployment & Training – rolling out any new system requires a transition phase consisting of testing, deployment, and training. Often, these steps are overlooked or not stressed enough.
- Relationship Management – After the rollout is successful, Hyperwave believes the work is not done. There are support & maintenance tasks, new product knowledge transfer, more project threads, and future feature roll out.

The Hyperwave approach brings structured thinking to your Knowledge Management project. The approach is designed to be modular, so your organization can choose to start at different phases or apply various resources depending on your specific readiness and requirements.
Partner Methodologies
The Hyperwave value proposition also provides the methodologies and experiences of our Partner Organizations. Our partners include technology and service leaders.
Hyperwave Professional Services Organization
Although Hyperwave views its primary role as that of a software solution provider, the company also provides its own Professional Services Organization (PSO).
The PSO is comprised of a project management team, consultants, and a competence center. This full service approach enables Hyperwave to act as general contractor for its clients. Hyperwave delivery consultants and solution partners can be made part of a project team as a sub-contractor or as the Prime, depending on the specific scope and requirements of the client project. Hyperwave’s practices and methodologies allow for this flexibility while assuring client project success.
Project Management Team
The Hyperwave Project Management Team is a group of experienced project managers, whose primary function is to plan, coordinate, and guide customer projects. Hyperwave consultants or trained solution partners normally carry out the implementation of projects. The Hyperwave project team manages the coordination of the parties involved and the definition of the communication interfaces.
Projects can be managed directly by Hyperwave. Those involved have a complete overview of the current status and progress of a project and can therefore react to deviations and changes as they arise.
This is viewed as key, as it places great value on client projects being conducted in a problem- and delay-free environment. Hyperwave endeavors to guide clients toward the use of established best practices. Potential risk to the success of the project (technical, organizational, skill) is addressed as early as possible to counteract these effects. In doing so, Hyperwave helps guarantee that projects are carried out efficiently, within the time allotted and with the highest quality solutions.
